US Congress Urges Biden to provide ATACMS missiles to Ukraine as Zelenskyy Announces ukraine Counter Attack

RUSSIA IS DESTINED FOR A  FAILURE

US President Joe Biden will now have no option but to abide by the Congress resolution to arm Ukraine with Army Tactical Missile System popularly known as ATACMS.

The Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) is a conventional surface-to-surface artillery weapon system capable of striking targets well beyond the range of existing Army cannons, rockets, and other missiles. It has a range of up to 190 miles (300 km) which is 13 feet (4.0 m) high and 24 inches in diameter.

The resolution highlights that the United States and its allied nations collectively possess thousands of ATACMS missiles and ought to provide them to Ukraine in a bid to shorten the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

If the resolution is passed by the U.S. Congress, it will call on President Biden to promptly provide Ukraine with an adequate quantity of ATACMS missiles to expedite Ukraine’s victory.

The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Michael McCaul, stated that if the United States fails to provide Ukraine with all necessary weaponry, it would contribute to prolonging the conflict.

“The success of the Ukrainian counter-offensive is directly linked to the military assistance provided by the United States and our allies,” McCaul said.

Ukraine’s Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov commented that Western countries hesitate to provide Ukraine with long-range U.S. ATACMS missiles due to their limited global availability, as well as concerns that the Ukrainian military might target Russian territory.

Ukraine has however committed not to use the western provided arms to attack mainland Russia. But territories occupied since 2014 by Russia including Crimea remains unanimously agreed to be legitimate targets for Ukraine to strike.

The US in the early times of the war provided Ukraine with a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System commonly known as HIMARS  which is a light multiple rocket launcher developed in the late 1990s for the United States and mounted on a standard United States Army Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles truck frame. HIMARS  has caused devastating results to the Russian Army and the Wagner terrorists.

Ukraine President Zelenskyy announced that counter-offensive operations are currently underway but he remained coy about the details.

Russia has carried out an invasion since February 24, 2022, which has brought untold suffering to innocent civilians. Russia has largely failed in its mission and is destined for ultimate collapse after its defeat.
